Congratulations Roger! 



     Sherm and I send our love on this very special day in your life!  We are thrilled you have chosen to become a member of your Father in Heaven's true church here on earth.  We know your decision to be baptized will bring blessings to you in this life and forever!  We wish we could be there to give you hugs and congratulate you in person.  Just know our thoughts and our hearts will be there with you and your family! 

     We know you have "Chosen the right!"  Not only will you be the newest member of the church in our family this Christmas, you will also receive the most marvelous gift - the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  This is the most marvelous gift because it will always be with you if you choose to have it part of your life.  This gift will never break or wear out.  It is a gift that will continue to bless you throughout your life.  The Holy Ghost will always be with you to hear and answer your prayers.  It will guide you when you are making decisions.  It will warn, and comfort you.  Both Sherm and I know this to be true.  Our prayers have been heard and answered many many times, we have been guided when making decisions, and we have been comforted during difficult experiences in our lives.  We have escaped dangerous situations when we have listened to "that still small voice" warning.  Most of the time The Holy Ghost will be a "still small voice" in your mind.  It can be a prompting, a thought that comes to mind, or a feeling deep inside your heart.  If you follow these quiet promptings, you will be blessed and there will be happiness and joy in your life.  

     Roger, you are a very talented young man.  Sherm and I love and admire you.  You are always thoughtful and accepting of everyone.  You have been and will continue to be a blessing to your family, friends, and all those who know you!  Always stay close to the teachings of your Savior.  Follow his example in everything you do.  Continue to pray, read the scriptures, and attend your meetings.  Continue to serve and bless others.  If you do the scriptures promise:  

             "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men.  Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the work of Christ,

             and endure to the end, behold thus saith the Father:  Ye shall have eternal life."  (II Nephi 31:20)

    We know God will watch over you and bless you.  You are one of his noble sons.  Both Sherm and I know the church is true.  The teachings in the Book of Mormon and all the prophets come from God.  We know you will be blessed for the life you lead and the decision you have made.
